Buddha Statues

Buddha statues and figurines are so much more than a dust-catching object. When you truly understand the meaning behind Buddha poses, the piece becomes so much more special because every time you look at it, you are reminded of the messages of Buddha and encouraged to live a more mindful life.
A Buddha statue is more than a piece of home décor. Every pose carries a meaning — from the calm of a meditating Buddha to the abundance of a laughing Buddha — and the right one turns any corner of your home into a space for peace and mindfulness.
Krishna Collections carries one of the largest ranges of handcrafted Buddha statues and idols in Canada: meditating, earth-touching and laughing Buddhas in brass, wood, and antique finishes, from small 3-inch desk statues to 16-inch statement pieces. Buddha Statue Poses & Their Meaning
The pose or mudra of a Buddha statue is its message. Understanding the meaning behind each pose helps you choose the right statue for your space and intention.
Meditating Buddha (Dhyana Mudra)
The meditating Buddha sits with both hands resting in the lap, palms up — the Dhyana mudra. This pose represents inner peace, focus, and the calm that comes from a settled mind. It is the most popular choice for meditation rooms, yoga studios, and bedrooms, where it supports quiet reflection. Our meditating Buddhas come in brass, silver-antique, and warm red and green finishes, from 10 to 16 inches.
Earth-Touching Buddha (Bhumisparsha Mudra)
In this pose the Buddha’s right hand reaches down to touch the earth, calling the ground to witness his enlightenment. It symbolises grounding, stability, and overcoming obstacles — a wonderful addition to a living room or workspace where you want a steady, grounded energy. Our brass Bhumisparsha statues are cast in the traditional style with an alms bowl.
Laughing Buddha (Budai)
The Laughing Buddha — also known as Budai — is the jolly, round-bellied figure associated with happiness, generosity, and abundance. His image is believed to attract good fortune, which is why he is a beloved housewarming and business gift. We carry laughing Buddhas in brass with money ingots and gold finishes.
Buddha Head & Bust Statues
A Buddha head or bust focuses the eye on the serene, knowing expression of the awakened one — wisdom, awareness, and clarity. Petal-carved Buddha faces and hand-carved wooden pairs make elegant shelf, desk, or entranceway pieces, and are especially popular as gifts.
Who Was Buddha?
Buddha — "the Enlightened One" — was born Siddhartha Gautama in Lumbini (present-day Nepal) around the 5th century BCE. Raised as a prince, he left palace life at 29 after witnessing old age, illness, and death, and set out to understand the nature of suffering.
After years of ascetic practice, he sat beneath the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya and vowed not to rise until he found the truth. At 35 he attained enlightenment and spent the rest of his life teaching the Middle Way — a path of moderation, mindfulness, and compassion. Today his statues are not objects of worship but reminders of these teachings: every time you look at one, it quietly encourages a more mindful, peaceful life.
*Bring that same calm into your home with a meditation cushion, a singing bowl, or incense from our meditation collection.*
