Size & Fit Guide

How to measure: measure across the outside of the door frame where the rings will sit. As a valance-style bandhanwar, it hangs straight across the top of the frame — it does not include long side hangings. The lotus medallions and swags sit in the upper part of the 11″ drop; the pearl tassels fall lowest. Allow the full 11″ of clearance below the top of the frame so the swags drape freely.

How to Hang (3 Steps)

1. Hold the toran across the top of your door frame and mark level points for the end rings (and centre ring, for extra support — important on this design so the middle swag drapes evenly).
2. Fix small hooks, screws, or frame nails, slip the rings over, and centre the band. Hang it by the band/rings only — never lift or hang it by the bead swags.
3. Arrange the three swags in even curves, centre each lotus, and let the tassel drops fall straight. Step back and adjust until the embroidered front faces outward and nothing is twisted.

Care & Storage

Real glass mirror, zari and beadwork should never be washed or soaked. Handle gently — mirrors can crack if folded sharply or dropped, and bead strings should not be pulled. Shake gently or dust with a soft, dry brush/cloth; spot-clean only if essential and allow to dry fully away from sunlight and moisture, which can dull mirror backing. Do not iron directly on embroidery or mirrors. Support the swags with your hand when moving the toran. Store flat in a box, or rolled loosely (embroidered side out) with soft tissue over the lotus mirrors, in a dry place. Kept this way, it will return Diwali after Diwali.

FAQ’s

Is the mirror on the lotuses real glass?
Yes. The three lotus medallions are inlaid with real glass sheesha (mirror) outlined in thread, which is why they sparkle so brightly in sunlight and diya light. Please handle, hang and store the toran gently — do not fold it sharply — as real mirrors can crack if crushed or dropped.

Will 39″ fit my door? What about the drop?
At approx. 39″ (99 cm) across, it suits most standard 32–36″ doors hung across the outside of the frame. The total drop is approx. 11″ (28 cm) from the top of the band to the lowest tassel tip, so please allow that much clearance for the swags to drape. Measure across the outside of your door frame where the end rings will sit before ordering.

Can I hang it outdoors?
We recommend indoor or covered entryway use only. Keep it dry — rain and humidity can damage zari, beadwork and mirror backing.

How do I hang it?
Slip the rings at both ends (and centre, for support) over small hooks, screws or frame nails fixed level across the top of the frame, centre the band, then arrange the swags, lotuses and tassels evenly. Always lift and hang it by the band — never by the bead swags.
