Elephant Shubh Labh Door Hanging – Set of 2
A Pair of Shubh Labh Hangings, Made to Be Noticed
Most Shubh Labh sets are small accents. This one is a statement — 28 inches of hanging gold zari, dense beadwork and mirror inlay, made to dress a full door.
Shubh Labh hangings are set on either side of a main entrance: शुभ (Shubh) meaning auspicious or good, and लाभ (Labh) meaning profit or gain. Placed together at your door, they invite prosperity and positive energy into the home — and this pair carries an “evil eye” motif at its centre, the traditional nazar symbol that turns away envy and ill intent.
What makes this set different
The evil eye isn’t printed or painted. It’s hand-beaded row by row in graduated blues — roughly 700 beads in each eye alone — then ringed with gold-framed glass mirror diamonds that catch light from across the room. The zari band above carries hand-set flowers and pearls, and each hanging finishes in a layered latkan (tassel) of art pearls and blossoms.
This is not a mass-produced piece. Expect 8–10 hours of handwork per pair, and expect the small irregularities that come with it. No two sets are identical.
Set of 2. You receive one Shubh hanging and one Labh hanging, each 28 inches in drop.
Where to hang it
We recommend sheltered entrances — a covered porch, vestibule, foyer, mandir, or an interior door. The beadwork, mirror inlay, and pearl latkans are delicate by design; direct rain, snow, or sustained wind will damage them.

Faq
Q: How long is the Shubh Labh hanging?
A: Each piece is 28 inches (71 cm) long, measured from the top of the hanging loop to the tip of the latkan, and 6 inches (15 cm) wide at the widest point. It suits a standard 80-inch door with clear space on either side.
Q: Does the price include both Shubh and Labh?
A: Yes. $48.00 CAD is for the set of two — one Shubh hanging and one Labh hanging. They are designed to be displayed as a pair.
Q: Can I hang this outside?
A: We recommend a sheltered entrance — a covered porch, vestibule or interior door. The glass beadwork, mirror inlay and pearls are delicate and should not be exposed to direct rain, snow or strong wind. For a fully exposed door, browse our acrylic and resin Shubh Labh range, which is made for Canadian weather.
Q: How do I hang it?
A: Each hanging has a pre-attached loop at the top. Use a small nail, adhesive hook or over-door hanger. Hooks are not included.
Q: Do the two pieces look identical?
A: No — one reads शुभ (Shubh) and one reads लाभ (Labh) in gold lettering. The floral and evil eye detailing is mirrored across the pair.
Q: How should I clean it?
A: Dust gently with a soft dry brush or a cool hairdryer. Never wash or wet the piece. Store flat in tissue paper between seasons.
Q: Will it arrive before Diwali?
A: Diwali 2026 is Sunday, November 8. Orders placed by October 30 with Standard shipping, or by November 3 with Priority/Express, should arrive in time. We dispatch the next business day from Halifax.
Q: Is this suitable as a housewarming or wedding gift?
A: Very much so. It arrives as a matched pair with auspicious symbolism, which makes it a natural fit for Diwali, housewarmings, weddings and griha pravesh.
