Water sensor Led diya – Red | Set of 12
$30.00
Twelve diyas, lit in one go — with water instead of a match. Add a little water and the LED switches itself on. Lift the diya out and it switches off. No oil, no wick, no soot, no open flame, and nothing to relight halfway through the evening.

Water sensor Led diya – Red | Set of 12 water activated Diwali Diya
A full night of Diwali light, without a single match
There’s always one diya that goes out just as you’re carrying the aarti thali, and always one child who wants to know what the flame feels like. Water activated LED diyas solve both problems at once.
Each diya in this set of 12 is a small water-sensor lamp: the moment water bridges the two contacts inside the bowl, the LED comes on with a soft, warm glow that mimics a real flame. Take it out of the water and it turns itself off — nothing to press, nothing to blow out, nothing to remember before bed.
Because they’re battery-powered and completely flameless, you can place them where a real diya would never be safe: beside a sheer curtain, under a rangoli, along a balcony railing, or in the middle of the dining table while the kids are eating.
How the water sensor works (3 steps)
- Fill — pour about 2–3 cm of clean water into a bowl, urli, tray or watertight plate.
- Float and glow — set the diya on the water. The sensor completes the circuit and the LED lights up immediately. It keeps glowing for as long as the contacts stay wet.
- Take it out and it’s off — lift the diya out, tip out the water and let it dry. Store it dry and the same diya is ready for next year.
No switch means no fiddling in the dark and no accidentally leaving a lamp on in a room you’ve walked away from.
Each piece is 5 cm high and 6.3 cm wide.
Please note the “Om Center Piece” is not part of the package, you can buy it separately

Where these diyas look best
Rangoli outline — Line the border of a rangoli or flower rangoli with lit diyas. Because they’re flameless, you can layer them close to flowers, powders and fabric without scorching anything.
Home mandir / pooja room — A warm, even glow on the altar throughout Lakshmi Puja, with no smoke staining the idols or the ceiling.
Diwali dinner table — A shallow glass tray in the centre of the table, or one diya at each place setting as a take-home favour for guests.
Balcony, porch and patio — Safe on surfaces where a live flame isn’t, and safe around fabric bunting, torans and string lights. Keep them out of direct rain and strong wind.
Events and gifting — Weddings, sangeets, haldi, housewarmings, Diwali hampers and Diwali return gifts for colleagues. Ordering more than one set? Twelve is roughly what you need for a single dessert table or one medium urli.
Why families switch to flameless
- Safe around children, pets and older family members. No flame to touch, no hot oil to knock over.
- Apartment and condo friendly. No soot on ceilings, no smoke alarm going off during aarti, no open-flame rule broken.
- Reusable year after year. A real diya burns down in one evening; these come back out for Holi, Navratri, Karwa Chauth, Christmas dinners, weddings and pooja days.
- No last-minute shopping. No oil, wicks or matches needed — the batteries are already in the diya.
- Weatherproof enough for a balcony. Water-powered by design, so a splash doesn’t ruin the evening.

Care and troubleshooting
- Use clean water. Oily water or a bowl full of petals sitting on the contacts can stop the sensor from reading properly.
- Dry before storing. Tip out the water, shake off the excess and leave the diyas upside down on a cloth overnight. Storing them damp is the fastest way to shorten the battery life and corrode the contacts.
- If a diya doesn’t light: add a bit more water so both contacts are submerged, wipe the contacts with a dry cloth, then set it back in the water. If it’s still dark after that, the battery has run out — see the FAQ below.
- Outdoors: fine on a covered balcony or porch. Bring them in if rain is forecast or if it’s very windy.

Frequently asked questions
How do water activated LED diyas work?
Each diya has two small contacts inside. Water conducts between them and completes the circuit, so the LED lights the moment the contacts get wet — and goes out when they dry off or the diya is lifted out.
Do they really turn off when I take them out of the water?
Yes. There’s no switch and no timer — the water itself is the switch. Take the diya out, tip the water out, and the light is off.
Are they safe to leave glowing all evening with kids and pets around?
Yes. There’s no flame, no hot oil and no smoke, so the diya body stays cool to the touch. That’s the main reason families switch to these for Diwali with young children in the house.
Do the diyas float?
Yes — they’re light and designed to float in a bowl, urli or tray of water. If your bowl is deep, add a bowl-within-a-bowl or a shallow dish so they don’t drift too far apart.
What size is each diya and how many do I get?
Each diya is 5 cm high and 6.3 cm across, and the pack contains 12 pieces.
Can I use them outdoors?
They’re water-activated, so a splash is fine, and they work beautifully on a covered balcony or porch. We don’t recommend leaving them in the rain or in very windy spots.
Can I float them with flowers and petals?
Yes — marigolds and rose petals look lovely with them. Just keep the petals from sitting directly on the contacts, or the sensor may not read the water.
Will these last more than one Diwali?
Yes. Empty the water, dry them fully and store them in a dry place, and the same set comes back out year after year. Replace the batteries when the glow starts to fade.
Is the Om centrepiece part of the set?
No, the Om centrepiece is a separate piece. It’s styled in our photos to show how the set looks in a full urli arrangement.
