Our 13-inch lotus diya is built in two tiers: an inner ring of upright petals cupping the bud at the center, and a wider outer ring of low bowls spreading out around it. Every one of those petals is a candle cup, sized for a standard tea light or a small clay diya.

Set a flame in each cup and the effect is unlike anything a single diya can do — a full bloom of small flames, gold leaf by gold leaf, throwing warm light and soft petal shadows across the table.

How many diyas or tea lights does it hold?
Twelve — one in each petal cup. Standard tea lights and small clay diyas both fit.

Can I put water or flowers in it?
No. This is a candle holder, not a urli. For floating flowers and floating diyas, see our brass urlis and floating lotus LED diyas.

Is it heavy? Will it scratch my table?
It’s a solid metal piece, so it stays put and doesn’t slide. We recommend a felt pad or a table runner under it on polished wood.

Can it be used outdoors?
It’s fine on a covered porch or balcony. Keep it out of rain and direct damp – the finish is not meant for water.

Do the candles come with it?
No, tea lights and diyas are sold separately. Our floating lotus & LED diyas are a flameless option if you’d rather not use an open flame.

Will it look like the photos?
Yes — each piece is hand-finished, so there can be very slight variation in the gold tone and in how the petals sit. That’s part of it being made and packed by hand.
